Demolition of 12-story hotel and 4-story parking garage

Details

The purpose of this project was to make way for a new Cancer Hospital. The unique construction of the hotel, along with its close proximity to Archer Road and its location between an existing nursing home as well as Shands Hospital across the street, added many layers of complexity. Dust control and safe, careful demolition of both structures were of great concern to the owner and GC of this project.

Special Notes

We used our Ultra High Excavator was used to demolish the parking garage, and our 100-ton Manitowoc Crane to demolish the hotel. A Dust Boss was used for dust suppression as working heights exceeded 110’.
