BASICS

Demolition of all 3 space shuttle hangers –  90′ tall and a total of 150,000 square feet

Details

This was a very complex project since the main hanger super structure which was only inches away from the Orbiter Support Structures could not be damaged. We developed a unique system to protect all of the historic systems and components before starting the demolition. We successfully removed over 4,000 tons of steel without any damage to the items remaining.

Special Notes

Our team successfully demolished the Captain Jack’s Restaurant which was originally built over the water and could only be accessed via a barge on the water.
