Asbestos minerals are composed of delicate fibers that are resistant to heat, fire and many chemicals. Because of these properties, asbestos was once commonly used in construction and is still found in many of today’s buildings. Unfortunately, we now know that asbestos exposure can cause mesothelioma and other cancers through airborne exposure.
The affected area is placed under containment so that the abatement process can take place under negative air. This air is forced through a HEPA filter system during the abatement process.
